Taiwan-Japan Friendship in Motion: Taiwan Railways and Seibu Railway Forge Sisterhood with Limited-Edition Commemorative Tickets

Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA) and Seibu Railway have recently established a sisterhood relationship. After close discussions, they jointly launched the “Taiwan Railways x Seibu Railway Sister Railway Agreement Commemorative Ticket.” On the Japanese side, it is scheduled to be first released on June 7th at the “Seibu 'Train Festa 2015 in Musashi-Sakai Rolling Stock Maintenance Plant” event. On the Taiwan side, the tickets will be sold at designated stations in northern, central, and southern Taiwan on June 9th as part of the Railway Day celebration activities. This marks the first time both sides have jointly issued a commemorative ticket set.

The commemorative ticket set combines TRA’s name-ticket style ticket with Seibu Railway’s hard-ticket format, packaged together. Both sets feature mascots from each railway introducing sightseeing spots and featured trains along their respective routes, helping people in Taiwan and Japan gain deeper insights into each other’s culture and sparking enthusiasm for cross-border exchange.
