May 6th of each year is International No Diet Day, a holiday initiated in the UK and also advocated by Canadian dietitians who encourage everyone to eat freely on this day and stop stressing about dieting and losing weight. Nine restaurants under Yunlong Tourism, including their designated hotel dining outlets and external dining partners, are hosting a weight-gain competition in Taiwan for the first time on International No Diet Day. The event involves weighing participants before and after dinner, with the person who gains the most weight declared the winner and receiving a free meal for everyone at their table that evening.
Yunlong Tourism’s “International No Diet Day” event will take place during dinner on May 6th, the official No Diet Day.Members of the public can sign up on-site at The Regent Taipei, The Regent Spa Hotel, Grand Formosa Taroko (Taoyuan), Grand Formosa Taroko (Xinzhuang), Grand Formosa Taroko (Kaohsiung), Grand Formosa Taroko (Hualien), The Ambassador Hotel Miaoli, The Ambassador Hotel Taichung, and the external dining partner Huayuan at Xindian. Registration is open until all tables are full. After signing up, participants can join the event and begin enjoying the meal following their weight measurement. Half an hour before the end of the dining period, weights will be measured again, and the individual with the highest weight gain will win the grand prize of a free meal for their entire table that evening. For example, at The Regent Taipei, if a participant wins, a four-person table could enjoy a value of approximately NT$6,072 worth of gourmet dining at a star-rated hotel.
