Located by Yilan’s Meihua Lake, Huyang 189 Style Hotel gained fame for its three-story “glass house,” complemented by large floor-to-ceiling windows that offer unobstructed views of the surrounding mountains and rice fields. The outdoor area is spacious, featuring swings, sand pits, pipe slides, ball pits, racetracks, animal tents, and a safe swimming pool. The pure white rooms, with their large windows and transparent hanging chairs, create a super dreamy vibe, sparking a wave of buzz on Instagram.

Wooden Cabins on Island in the Sky

Opened in September 2013, the Wooden Cabins on Island in the Sky were created by a young couple as their own little paradise. They named this plot of land in Jiaoxi “Island in the Sky” and built 8 colorful wooden cabins, each standing independently amid the surrounding fields. In spring and summer, they’re surrounded by lush green rice paddies; in autumn and winter, the fallow fields turn into wetlands, with the cabins reflected in the water for an even more stunning view.

The 8 cabins operate as a homestay, offering accommodation to visitors of “Island in the Sky.” Designed with a duplex concept, each cabin has two double beds upstairs and one double bed downstairs, accommodating up to 6 people. This year in March, a colorful “Water Chapel” was also added nearby, creating a new photogenic highlight.

French Little Castle

The drained rice fields reflect the blue sky, white clouds, and the castle’s silhouette, accented by a few dead trees, creating a postcard-perfect foreign landscape. It’s hard to imagine such a gem exists in Yilan. For room types, there are three options: “Rose Double Room,” “Iris Double Room,” and “Castle Quadruple Room.” Symbolizing an air of nobility, crystal chandeliers, lace chairs, and large double beds, paired with the warm wooden flooring and yellow lighting indoors, exude an intoxicating romantic charm. Though the premium rooms come with higher rates, they still attract plenty of fans.

Tian’e Camper

A new camper-style homestay has opened in May by Meihua Lake in Yilan. Ten pure white campers are set up with wooden deck balconies, overlooking a large lawn and a tranquil lake. Lie in the camper and gaze at the starry sky through the skylight.

The campers are pure white, featuring a minimalist and consistent style. Lined up neatly, they look quite adorable. The interiors are well-lit, with a skylight above the bed—perfect for stargazing at night. Equipped with sofas, a TV, and private bathrooms, they offer a level of comfort that’s quite different from traditional campers.
