Mother’s Day is approaching – have you thought about what to give your mom? A well-known global hotel booking website conducted a survey among online users, and the results showed that as many as 51.3% of the moms surveyed most hope to receive “a trip” as a gift.Even more interestingly, when asked about their dream companions, moms ranked Takeshi Kaneshiro and Brad Pitt fourth and fifth respectively, with Takeshi Kaneshiro and Brad Pitt, while the top three are Takeshi Kaneshiro, Andy Lau, and Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je.

The questionnaire surveyed moms over the age of 35 in Taiwan regarding Mother’s Day gifts and travel intentions. When moms are offered free accommodation, who do they envision as their dream travel companion? The top spot went to ageless heartthrob Takeshi Kaneshiro, followed by Andy Lau in second, while Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je took an unexpected third place with 13.3% of the vote.

The survey also revealed that moms are usually the decision-makers when it comes to family trips, with one out of every two moms being the key person deciding on the destination and budget for family travel. Additionally, moms’ favorite type of accommodation is “all-inclusive resorts,” followed by “boutique-style homestays with cultural themes.” In terms of trip duration, 65.4% of the moms surveyed expressed a desire for their Mother’s Day trip to last at least four to seven days. The city most wanted for travel is Tokyo, followed by other cities in Taiwan, with Paris and Dubai also among the top destinations moms wish to visit. Moreover, most moms prioritize complimentary breakfast over free Wi-Fi, showing a strong emphasis on food.

In addition, more than half of the moms hope to use the trip to relax and get a spa treatment. Following that, 44% of moms would like to enjoy a Michelin-starred meal, 37.3% want to go shopping, and 10% even hope to undergo cosmetic treatments during their travels.
