Mini English Castle
The idea originated from the owner’s passion for travel and love for Europe, which sparked the dream of owning a castle. Tony, the castle owner who is around 40 years old, had no prior experience in the homestay industry. Tony mentioned that he would take Ivy on self-drive tours across Europe, renting cars along the way.

The Mini English Castle has about three rooms, offering both double and quad occupancy. The owner’s taste and attitude toward life are reflected throughout this British-style cottage. Tony personally selected authentic European-imported furniture and decor. The surroundings of the castle mimic the English Lake District, and the bedding provided is also European-style.

Tony said, “Among European countries, we have a particular fondness for well-preserved British and French castles. The Mini English Castle is modeled after our favorite castle in the English Lake District. The local architecture makes full use of the dark coffee-colored stone from the area, creating a multi-layered, warm exterior with windows proportioned just right, giving it a distinctive charm.”

The design of the castle is all thanks to Tony’s ingenuity: “Relying on my own passion, I drew sketch after sketch—even though I’m not an expert in this field. I lost count of how many drafts I threw into the trash before the Mini English Castle could finally stand proudly in Yilan’s rainy climate!”

Ivy said, “Every year when we go abroad, we make sure to stay in a castle to experience life in a European one.” Due to Tony’s deep interest in European architecture, staying in castles became almost their only choice in Europe. Tony and Ivy also bring these experiences back to Taiwan to share with others, whether it’s their daily encounters or English breakfasts.

When asked about his experience running the homestay, Tony said, “Authentic European-style architecture is truly challenging to achieve in Taiwan. For a working-class couple without any background in architecture or interior design, completing this dream was harder than outsiders could imagine!” He once shared his dream journey with guests, eventually earning their understanding and even inspiring some to pursue their own dreams. Tony was deeply moved that his ideas could influence others. Because he understands the difficulty of chasing dreams, he is also happy to share advice and design insights with his guests.

Running a homestay is a labor of love. Ivy said, “Both of us love castles, so we named our homestays after mini castles. The upcoming French Mini Castle, which is currently under construction, will also start operating this summer. It’s located near the Mini English Castle, just a bridge away. We warmly welcome everyone to visit.”

Jane Orange Castle Homestay
The exterior of the Orange Castle is based on an orange color scheme, representing the purest and most sincere state of mind. The design features two separate standalone buildings, named Versailles and the Louvre. The themes inside aren’t limited to palaces—there are also Indian, Mediterranean, and Italian styles. The owner of the Orange Castle is a decoration expert, while his wife is a styling master. The interior displays a collection of various European furniture and luxury items. The Orange Castle offers regular accommodations as well as entire-house rental services.

Liangxian Muting Manor Homestay
Nestled in the fields of Jiaoxi, this Dutch-style windmill castle awaits. All rooms in the manor are named after the twelve zodiac signs. Most of the rooftops are made of red brick tiles, and the surrounding fields and rice paddies present different views with the seasons—lush green in spring and summer, golden with swaying ears of grain in autumn. Guests can take photos around the property as keepsakes. The homestay also offers a BBQ area, a family game room, a foot-soaking zone, and a small play area.

Hotel Sainte Hotty Resort Castle
Located near the National Center for Traditional Arts, the Dongshan River Children’s Amusement Area, Luodong Sports Park, and Luodong Night Market, the Sainte Hotty Castle features a white exterior with red-tiled roofs. Its beautiful scenery often makes it a popular filming location—for instance, dramas like “In Time with You” and “Chocolate Rain” were filmed here. The hotel offers family rooms to accommodate entire families. Room types include European-style high-ceiling duplex designs, rooftop skylights for stargazing, and exclusive sky terraces. Additionally, the backyard includes a large southern pine deck and a water play area.

Rothenburg Manor Homestay
Rothenburg Manor was independently planned and designed by the male owner. It is a German-style rural building nestled in the woods. The dense garden trees, yellow walls mixed with rock walls, and coniferous trees planted within the manor create a European forest landscape. This location was also used as a filming site for “Chocolate Rain” and “Love is Complicated.” In terms of room types, it offers double and quad suites, especially with scenic views available in all second-floor rooms.
