Night market operating hours: Friday to Sunday | Address: No. 35, Section 2, Agongdian Road, Gangshan District, Kaohsiung City. MRT Nangangshan Station / Exit 1 / Head toward Jieshou Overpass

Huli finally found time to check out the newly opened Gangshan Garden Night Market!! What surprised us even more was that Lao Jiang Black Tea Milk had set up a stall there (´⊙ω⊙`) Can we say that the people of Gangshan are getting happier? Haha... Even though we had to travel from the city center, we still had to buy a cup to sip on the go XD Then we wandered around looking for food to feed little Huli~ After a round, we found a few good snack stalls with lines and bought some to try. After all, when visiting night markets, we go for easy-to-carry snacks that can be shared with friends—it’s the most fun d(`?∀?)b This time, we two were pretty lucky, picking things that were all quite good!! As for drinks, no need to say much, but the food—nothing beat the scallion pancake~~ Super crispy and not greasy at all.... If you haven’t been to the Gangshan night market yet, you can start with this personally recommended guide (it’s not really a secret guide, just food-loving sharing) If you’re a night market pro, hurry up and turn in your homework~~ Send over your list of amazing eats (●´ω`●)0? Little Huli said she really wants to go again!!

Just as we entered the entrance of the night market.... we met a mascot = = Shali thought that cow was the mascot of Lao Jiang Black Tea Milk XD It turned out to be the pet of the Gangshan night market itself!! ((dizzy)) Some kids would run over for photos, which was quite fun~~ But why steal our spotlight (*´з`*) Naughty!! Oh right, Lao Jiang’s stall is super easy to find!! Probably don’t even need to look for it!! It’s right to the right of the entrance %n(′~ 50)%m

We each ordered a cup of Lao Jiang Black Tea & Black Tea Milk ^^ The taste here is exactly the same as the original shop.... It’s definitely the real Lao Jiang!! (Stamped by the same makers)

Once you’ve tried Lao Jiang, you’ll know their black tea has a very unique flavor!! The staff said the boss personally brews it every day, sticking firmly to the tea-brewing process passed down from the first generation of his father, so everyone can enjoy the traditional and captivating taste of Lao Jiang with peace of mind. Even setting up a stall at Gangshan Garden Night Market, they put a lot of care into presenting the natural tea aroma. We occasionally go to the Dalian store “Black Tea Jiang” near our home to buy a whole jar of black tea to DIY with milk at home, but we still love the ratio the shop adjusts the most~~~ (And they use high-quality fresh milk too!!)

The black tea itself has a coffee-like aroma, and the taste is slightly astringent. Shali’s sister loves this kind of texture XDD Little Huli and Shali prefer it with milk (Q´∴Q) It feels smoother!! Getting black tea milk at the Gangshan night market stall is also made fresh on-site, and it only tastes good when it’s ice-cold and fresh!!

This toast is something we ordered again just before we were about to leave the night market after finishing our stroll (灬ºωº灬) The Lao Jiang stall is set right at the entrance and exit—it’s practically designed to lure Huli in..... Hahaha!!

The butter brand exclusively used by Lao Jiang is “Rui Xixin,” and it’s written right on the menu like that.... We’d heard before from trying other toast items that the butter they use is of higher quality!! So some might say the toast is a bit pricey, but these days with so many food safety issues, shops that use good ingredients naturally have higher costs. Huli often eats out and is wary of overly cheap food~ you get what you pay for, and there’s a reason for that!! After checking the Rui Xixin website, we found their “pure cream” is made from 100% fresh milk—“pure cream”—different from the artificial or synthetic cream sold in stores. What you put in your body needs extra attention!! Little Huli is very particular about ingredient sources and never allows Shali to eat cheap artificial cream (;´锭?多)

【Rui Xixin Sugar Powder Toast】NT$35 per serving
This!! This!! This!! Is the new delicious toast Huli discovered from Lao Jiang XDDD It’s really just spread with Rui Xixin cream, sprinkled with sugar powder.... That’s it, but after eating it, we rushed back to the Dalian store the next day to buy more = = The sweet tooth Shali loves its sweet taste~~ But even the salt lover Huli fought to eat it?? She said the butter melted into the toast, giving it a slightly salty taste, and the sugar powder’s sweetness was just right.... She decided to rank it as the number one toast from Lao Jiang ( •

The toast is slightly crispy yet has a soft texture, and the Richi cream and frosting blend together perfectly—it’s such a great match! It’s perfect with black tea or milk, making it a great breakfast or afternoon tea treat :)  Sweet tooth lovers who haven’t tried this flavor should give it a go~~~

When we were about to leave as it got dark, the Old River Black Tea Milk stand was already starting to form a line..... Luckily, we two arrived early!%Xue omega;%Xiao Xue omega;%Xie/p>

Besides the queue at Old River, we walked further inside to the back.... and found that Wu He’s Scallion Pancakes also had a huge crowd! And we even walked around twice before checking again.... but the line never got any shorter= = Out of curiosity, we ended up joining the queue to buy some!(I mean, it’s just scallion pancakes, right)

While waiting in line, we saw the owner constantly kneading the dough, pressing it, and frying it........ There’s something really satisfying about getting food made fresh right in front of you!No wonder everyone knows to come to this stall~~

The freshly fried scallion pancake looks amazing! The golden crust is quite crispy^^ It’s not burnt at all, and every bite has a unique flavor!

We bought half a piece, which is the amount shown in the picture. Since it’s been cut, it doesn’t look like much~~ But it’s actually enough for two people to share!Xiao Hu and Shali both love the texture at the curved edges.... it’s crispier (=%?j%呓 5) When we got it, it was still hot, and it didn’t feel greasy even after cooling down a bit—we’d definitely want to visit again!

The owner was continuously rolling out the dough from start to finish..... Almost every customer got a scallion pancake that had just been fried and taken off the pan~~ Fans of this kind of snack, remember to check out “Wu He Scallion Pancakes” at Gangshan Garden Night Market (%?j%冤

【Sweet Potato Balls】NT$10 per serving
Sorry to say.... we only bought these sweet potato balls to eat while resting at the seats in front of the sweet potato ball stall, which is located diagonally in front of the Garden Night Market service center. We thought since the sign said “vegetarian,” it probably wouldn’t be too bad, XD  But after finishing one pack, Xiao Hu immediately ordered another! He even went to chat with the boss lady= =

Turns out the ingredients for these sweet potato balls are all handmade and rolled by the boss and his wife~~ Although they said it was for cost reasons, you really should support small snack stalls like this (%?j%冤  Each pack is only NT$10..... totally generous and kind-hearted!(The most important part is—they’re delicious!)

At first, Shali thought the sweet potato balls, being so plump, would probably feel empty once you bite into them~~ But the inside is actually really substantial! So we both fought over them and couldn’t help but buy another pack haha

The inside of the sweet potato balls is packed with filling!Highly recommend everyone to get a pack at Gangshan Night Market :)  Most of the fried snacks we ate tonight weren’t very greasy, so it’s okay to try something new once in a while!

The sweet potato balls used to be sold for NT$20, but to let more people try them.... they’re now only NT$10. The stall is at the very back of the innermost row..... It’s usually less crowded in this area, so if you’re around, go check it out!

Finally, following the recommendation of a night market vendor, we went to try stinky tofu marinated in enzymes~~~ As soon as we walked over, we were greeted by an enticing aroma XDDDD  The vendor kept stirring the fried stinky tofu in the pot, and the freshly fried pieces were crispy and absolutely addictive.

The enzyme-marinated stinky tofu looked quite hard at first glance?(´"V%?j%撷V)

But the texture was actually crispy on the outside and tender on the inside! And it felt really satisfying after eating~~

The vendor’s wife especially introduced their enzyme-soaked stinky tofu~~ Why did the stinky tofu look so appetizing even before frying? (mouth watering) The sauce for the enzyme stinky tofu was pretty good too~~ We asked the vendor’s wife to add a bit of spice, and it was a full-on medley of crispiness, tenderness, spiciness, and tanginess in every bite XDD  Lovers of stinky tofu, go find the “enzyme stinky tofu”!

The Gangshan Garden Night Market isn’t as large as you might expect, but the amusement rides are incredibly complete! Sally even thought she had wandered into an amusement park..... haha~

Little Tiger spotted the pirate ship from afar and kept shouting that he wanted to ride it....... cough cough, how old are you now%n(′~ 50)%m Save it for the kids, okay!

Parents can stroll through the night market, eat to their heart’s content, and still entertain the little ones~~ How nice! However, the rides have fees—you’ll need to check with the service counter in the middle for tickets^^

This trip to the Gangshan Garden Night Market was super rewarding—we’re stuffed and satisfied XD  Hu and Li have limited stomach space, so for now, we’re just recommending a few of the good spots we tried! Anyway, start by getting a cup of Old Jiang’s Black Tea Milk right at the entrance to the night market~~ (I personally love it, haha)

Hu and Li are smiling happily
Life is about experiences, and living is about trying new things! “Taste” is a very subjective thing—it’s only when expectations are met and emotions are stirred that the flavor of love is truly created.
