New Free-Admission Attraction in Chiayi: Wanglaishan Love Prairie is Packed with LOVE-Themed Decorations

Holiday Travel Plans!! Come on!! Today, Pangbi is here to share a newly opened attraction!! I’ve been to Chiayi twice this month already—luckily, it’s not too far from Tainan, practically a neighbor XD

Today, we’re heading to the ‘Wanglaishan Love Prairie.’ This spot just opened in August this year—so new!! There might still be plenty of people who don’t know about it, but today, Pangbi will let you in on the secret!! Taiwan has Alishan, and at the foot of Alishan lies Wanglaishan. The Wanglaishan Love Prairie is a brand-new addition to Chiayi’s attractions. Travelers visiting Chiayi now have one more great place to explore—come fall in love at the ‘Wanglaishan Love Prairie!’ And best of all, it’s free admission!!

The Wanglaishan Love Prairie is located right at the foot of Alishan, so you can hit up Alishan in the morning and then head down to the Wanglaishan Love Prairie in the afternoon for a stroll before heading home. Right at the entrance, you’ll see this giant gift-shaped heart—it’s like wrapping my heart as a present for you!! It’s super romantic for couples to take photos here!!

Oh, and there’s a parking lot here too!! And it’s pretty spacious—you won’t have to worry about squeezing your car onto the roadside. Just drive right in!! This is the entrance to the Wanglaishan Love Prairie. Once you park, you can head in. I also spotted their new mascot here!! It’s that cute deer with a heart on its chest.

On a hot day, duck inside first to enjoy some air-conditioning and check out the unique features inside. There’s a sales area, a tasting section, and five major love-themed zones—all under one roof. The second floor even has a Happiness Café!! You won’t find that at the other location. The operation style here is a bit different from the Wanglaishan in Minxiong—it’s more spacious and comfortable, and you can even run freely across the prairie.

In addition to selling various pineapple products from Wanglaishan, they also offer Alishan-themed souvenirs here!! That’s something the Minxiong location doesn’t have!! Since the Wanglaishan Love Prairie is right at the foot of Alishan, it also sells related local souvenirs you can pick from.

Unlike the Minxiong branch, this one is love-themed, and the displays even come with little love stories!! Let’s follow Pangbi for a walk around!!

A romantic rose-covered book wall—perfect for taking gorgeous photos. This floral wall style is super trendy abroad!! Many weddings even feature a flower wall for guests to take pictures with. I heard this one is quite pricey!! Come snap some beautiful shots here and indulge a little—but please don’t touch or damage it, so everyone can enjoy the view.

Love Wish Book: Tell Your Love Story—Lets you describe your ideal love. In the final zone, you can write your own Love Library Card or Wish Card. You can even write one together with someone special—or if you’re single, write a love wish card and make a wish!! Then drop it into the Love Wish Book.

Not only do they provide tastings, but the space itself is beautifully decorated. There are hanging dried flowers in soft pink hues that feel super sweet—as if my love is finally arriving!!

They also offer a cozy space where you can sit down and enjoy a piece of pineapple cake along with a drink—and everyone gets one free tasting.

Friendly staff will guide you to your seat to enjoy delicious pineapple cakes, one per person—no arguments here XD. They also serve drinks that pair perfectly with the cake, and the pineapple cakes here are even pre-warmed!! They have that tangy pineapple aroma and fibrous texture. I really like their pineapple cakes—I always grab a box or two to take back when I visit Chiayi. Wanglaishan also has several retail locations in downtown Chiayi for easy shopping.

After the pineapple cake, how about trying some pineapple wine?? Taiwanese pineapple vinegar is the most famous, but Wanglaishan’s pineapple vinegar is the most natural!! I read somewhere that drinking a glass of vinegar every day keeps the doctor away—what a fun and catchy line, almost like a tongue twister!! The pineapple wine has a uniquely fermented tang.

This section mainly displays Wanglaishan-related products, including pineapple cakes, pineapple juice, pineapple wine, pineapple vinegar, etc. Professional staff are on hand to help explain everything!!

After sampling the delicious pineapple cake, let’s step outside!! There are also light snacks and desserts like pineapple smoothies, pineapple tea eggs, and cream puffs to choose from!!

On a hot day, a refreshing pineapple smoothie is just perfect!! It has that tangy pineapple flavor, and the crushed ice gives a super cool, ice-cold sensation. It feels so refreshing and cooling after one sip—I love this stuff!!

Pair it with an Alishan tea-infused pineapple egg too!! Honestly, it’s my first time trying a pineapple tea egg. The egg has a subtle tea fragrance, and it goes perfectly with the pineapple smoothie—it’s like a mini snack concept.

After eating and drinking your fill, head over to the nearby Love “Marry Me” spot for some sweet couple photos!! I asked my parents to be my models—come on, look at the camera, 1, 2, 3, smile!! The tricky part? They wouldn’t pose with hearts, so I spent forever teaching them XD. I felt like my body was gonna twist out of shape, but we still couldn’t get it right, so we gave up.

This spot feels perfect for couples to take photos!! Even for wedding photos, it seems like a great backdrop!! So full of love!! Too bad I was there solo that day XD.

The park is actually pretty big!! For those who don’t want to walk, you can rent a bike here for just NT$20 to ride around the grounds.

Most of the installations here are heart-themed, because it’s the Love Prairie!! You’ll feel surrounded by love all day long!!

In the spacious park, lush greenery abounds. When you’re tired from walking, you can head to the pavilion to enjoy the natural breeze—whether you want to chat, daydream, or take plenty of photos, it’s all wonderful here～

Everywhere you go, you’ll find heart-themed installations, perfect for photography enthusiasts. The vast grasslands are great for bringing kids along—they can run freely, and you’ll often see people having picnics on the grass. It’s a great way to enjoy family time while connecting with nature.

When you’re tired of exploring, head up to the coffee area on the second floor to enjoy a cup of coffee and take in the view. The staircase resembles a stack of books about love, giving the feeling of climbing step-by-step toward happiness.

Visiting here not only gets you free pineapple cake samples, but the second floor is also home to the Happiness Café, where you can enjoy an afternoon tea. The view from the second floor is even more expansive. The indoor seating area has air conditioning, making it a comfortable retreat from the heat. Minimum spend per person is $100.

There’s also an outdoor area with an even more breathtaking view—rolling mountains stretch into the distance, and flocks of birds fly freely overhead. Sip a coffee while conversing with nature, and escape the hustle and bustle of the city. I’ve heard that visiting in the evening offers a stunning sunset, though I came in the morning and only saw the big sun＞＜

Check out the MENU～ They mainly serve coffee, desserts, and fried snacks. I’m quite interested in their hand-selected specialty coffee～ Even if you haven’t been to Alishan, you should come to Wanglai Mountain and try a cup of Taiwanese Alishan coffee!! One cup is 200 NT$, so go ahead and treat yourself！

The hand-brewed coffee lets you enjoy the changing aroma of the beans during the brewing process. A good cup of coffee depends a lot on the brewer～

Pineapple Juice
It really tastes like fresh pineapple！！！ This sweet and tangy pineapple juice can also be mixed with green tea at home to make a “pineapple green.” Drinking it cold on a hot day feels incredibly refreshing！

There’s a new attraction in Chiayi now～ If you’re returning from Alishan, you can swing by here. It’s perfect for watching the sunset, which feels quite romantic. It’s also a great spot for night views. Currently, there’s no entrance fee, and you can sample pineapple cake, drink coffee, take photos, and even buy some souvenirs to take home.
