Jeju Island has long been known as the “honeymoon island of Korea,” with its pleasant scenery and climate, making it a popular vacation spot for Koreans. The Jeju Special Self-Governing Provincial Government announced on the morning of the 13th that it has signed a business agreement with South Korea’s “bbb Korea” to provide translation services for travelers, aiming to createa language-barrier-free tourism environment on Jeju Island.

The Jeju Special Self-Governing Provincial Government stated that this collaboration primarily aims to address the most inconvenient issue for foreign tourists visiting Jeju — “language communication (31%)”. The 4,500 volunteer translators serving bbb Korea can provide 24-hour phone call translation services, ensuring quick and timely assistance even during nighttime emergencies or unexpected situations. In addition to Chinese-speaking tourists, the service also caters to the growing number of visitors from Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Russia, and other countries by offering multilingual support.
