Taipei Railway Station Totoro Bus Stop – The Lonely Figure Waiting for the Bus Has Appeared

The Totoro bus stop at Taipei Railway Station has a new character background to admire now. The iconic Totoro bus stop sign from the famous Studio Ghibli film has appeared at the Wutie Akihabara Plaza. In addition to the green foliage backdrop paired with the Inari Shrine-style stop sign, there’s now a new umbrella-holding figure. The scene appears to show two sisters waiting for the bus in the rain, with just a Totoro missing from the picture.

The Totoro bus stop sign at Taipei Railway Station was created to promote the upcoming opening of the Studio Ghibli store “Acorn Republic Xinyi Store.” Currently in its second phase, the display now features not only the bus stop sign but also a solitary yet refreshing figure. It is understood that Totoro himself will soon arrive at the Taipei Railway Station stop for fans to take photos with.

The Studio Ghibli store, beloved by many fans in Hong Kong, will open its first Taiwan location at ATT 4 FUN in Taipei’s Xinyi District, expected to debut before summer. The organizers are also running an online event where participants can win pre-opening entry vouchers and original small gifts by taking photos on-site and answering questions. Organizer J&T CONTENTS added that when taking photos, please do not cross the yellow line or retractable barriers, and standing on the platform is prohibited to protect the Totoro bus stop from damage.
