Often, when we seek out good food, it’s the taste memories we’re really after. ▲ Pork & Seafood Rice Soup NT$180. This dish features a broth simmered with pork bones and chicken bones, paired with Tainan-style handmade fish rolls, milkfish paste, fish dumplings, shredded bamboo shoots, and Hu Li’s favorite stir-fried shrimp roe, adding extra umami and fragrance. This dry set only includes the seafood soup without rice—you can enjoy it with a side of tuna fish sauce rice.

▲ Beef & Seafood Rice Soup NT$230. This small pot is Hu Li’s favorite—the broth simmered with pork bones, plus Tainan handmade fish rolls, milkfish paste, fish dumplings, shredded bamboo shoots, and shrimp roe. The rich mix of ingredients and hearty rice make for a very satisfying meal.

▲ The rice in the pot has a slightly grainy texture—not overly soft or mushy. Though it’s a small pot dish, the portion is actually quite generous. The crispy bamboo shoots add a nice crunch, and Hu Li was full after just one pot. (Big eaters might want to order a couple more XD)

▲ Single Order: Hamburger Patty NT$40. For beef lovers, Hu Li highly recommends adding a homemade hand-formed hamburger patty to your rice soup. It’s juicy and tender, and cooking it in the soup lets the rich meat juices fully infuse, making it even more flavorful!

▲Xiao Er Yue Fan Tang is located at the roundabout where Zhonghua 3rd Road meets Zhongzheng 4th Road. It has a full red signboard, but it’s easy to miss as it’s partially blocked by a tree. When you’re nearby, remember to slow down or look for the shop near Yuanhe Ya Clinic.
