Just 30 minutes to Beitou directly from here—the final stop of the Ban-Nan MRT Line, “Dingpu Station,” will open in June

Echoing the light wave motif of the ceiling, the floor of Dingpu Station also uses curved patterns to create a visual effect of flowing light waves, transforming the ground beneath passengers’ feet from dull, monotonous tiles into something more engaging.

In addition, the walls on both sides of the station are designed as LED light walls that can display various colorful light sculptures, making commuters feel as if they are walking through a tunnel of light along the direction of the beams. To complement the beauty of Tucheng’s tung blossom scenery, the transit authority has also decorated the walls with tung blossom art installations, allowing visitors to enjoy the blossoms year-round. Future public art pieces will also be added after the station opens.

The transit authority stated that Dingpu Station is not only the terminus of the Taipei MRT Ban-Nan Line but also the starting point of the future Sanying Line of the New Taipei MRT, symbolizing a connection between the past and the future. The station is expected to be completed and opened by the end of June, and a YouBike rental station will also be set up there as a transfer option. As for when the Sanying Line, which connects to Dingpu Station, will open, the transit authority said the current target is completion and operation in 2023.
