Although Huawei has been hit by U.S. sanctions and faces chip supply disruptions, the launch of the Huawei Mate 40 series does not mean no new devices will be introduced. Recently, Huawei is set to release the Nova 8 SE in China on November 5. Official promotional images suggest that the phone will closely resemble the iPhone 12 in appearance.
The Huawei Nova 8 SE will feature flat side frames and a square camera module housing multiple lenses, much like the iPhone 12. However, leaked images reveal clear differences in front design: the Huawei Nova 8 SE will have a waterdrop-style notch, while the iPhone 12 opts for a “notch” design to accommodate Face ID facial recognition—making their front designs distinctly different.
In terms of specs, it’s rumored that the Huawei Nova 8 SE will come equipped with a 64MP quad-camera setup, a 3800 mAh battery, and 5G support. There will also be a standard version with the built-in Dimensity 720 SoC, and a high-end version featuring the Dimensity 800 SoC.
