For many photographers, the go-to spots to capture Mount Fuji are the “Five Lakes of Fuji” surrounding the mountain. But for photography enthusiast Rockfish (aka @survive_187), the most beautiful view of Mount Fuji is from Enoshima.

The Five Lakes of Fuji refer to five lakes located around the northern foot of Mount Fuji: Lake Yamanaka, Lake Kawaguchi, Lake Sai, Lake Shoji, and Lake Motosu. In this area, photographers can easily find small inns, lake reflections, farmland, and flower fields to use as foreground elements, adding richness to their compositions.

As for the Enoshima recommended by Rockfish, it is located in Fujisawa City, Kanagawa Prefecture, which is farther away from Mount Fuji (situated at the border between Yamanashi and Shizuoka prefectures). On clear days, there is a marine terrace called Chigogafuchi on the western tip of the island, where you can gaze at Mount Fuji across Sagami Bay. In fact, this spot has been selected as one of the “Top 50 Scenic Spots in Kanagawa Prefecture,” and its sunset views are undeniably stunning.

Along the path leading to Chigogafuchi, there is a Japanese restaurant called Michinoho-tei. Rockfish took his shot nearby. Although the sky was left only with afterglow and Mount Fuji had turned into a silhouette, it created a serene atmosphere with a touch of retro charm—as if whispering, “You’ve worked hard all day, now it’s finally time to relax.”
