The world is in an era of rapid technological advancement, bringing new possibilities for preserving and sharing precious historical materials and information. The exhibition "Memories of Tomorrow – Results of the 98th Annual Open Call for Digital Content" showcases boundless potential through 9/26, presenting the digital achievements of various projects over the past year across different themed sections such as "Faces," "Traces," "Landscapes," and "Presence."

The "Taiwan Digital Archives Expansion Project" is part of the "National Digital Archives and Digital Learning Program," dedicated to building and presenting the diverse digital content of Taiwan’s culture, society, and natural environment. The "Open Call for Digital Content" is open annually to various archival institutions, public and private research organizations, systematically digitizing and utilizing materials on specific themes. The project’s online platform, "Digital Island," aims to showcase the rich tapestry of Taiwan’s local humanities, biology, and natural environment through collective participation and sharing by the public.

The "Faces of Memory" section primarily features audio displays, including literary interviews with writers, performances of rare and renowned musical instruments, works by Xu Changhui and Li Tai-hsiang, and the singing of Austronesian and Tao tribal songs, supplemented by highlights from Lee Tian-lu’s puppetry. Through direct "on-site documentation," it guides the public to understand the characteristics of each project and its digital achievements. "Traces of Memory" takes Taiwan’s natural features as its theme, presenting the diversity of Taiwan’s mountains and landscapes through specimens and documents and charts from different eras. "Landscapes of Memory" uses 3D panoramic/VR panoramic views and replicated architectural models to convey unique spatial concepts across different eras, regions, and individuals. "Memory in Presence" displays digitized images, as well as reproductions of church bulletins in vernacular script and contractual documents, and even exhibits baseball glove sets to evoke the excitement and dedication of live matches, documenting the foundations of the diverse development of politics, economy, society, and religion in different eras.

In the "Digital Island" section, works by renowned photographers, cultural history studios, and art creators will be introduced, using imagery to explore local life experiences. Additionally, award-winning works from the "A Hundred Trades in Focus – 5th Digital Island Photography Competition 2010" will be displayed, aiming to use thematic photography competitions to gather content from the public on aspects such as Taiwan’s mountain and ecological landscapes, social activities, and architectural scenes, continuously revitalizing this island organically.
