This beautiful and tranquil wetland in Yuli Township, Hualien, spans approximately 5.9 hectares and boasts rich ecological resources. Two ecological ponds filter, absorb, decompose, and purify wastewater before discharging it into the Xiuguluan River. Over the years, these ponds have developed a vibrant ecosystem, attracting migratory birds such as geese and ducks from Siberia that come to Taiwan for the winter. It’s a perfect spot for trips with friends or family outings.

Hidden within the Ironfen Tribe on County Highway 193 is a majestic and secluded waterfall secret—the Ironfen Waterfall. Because few people visit this spot, it offers a secluded paradise-like feel. The waterfall’s waters primarily originate from the western side of the Coastal Mountain Range. With a drop of about 26 meters, the cool water cascades down the towering cliffs, forming a silvery-white sheet and sending up sprays of mist. In ethereal clouds, this place becomes a top choice for locals seeking to escape the summer heat.

Although the main structure of the shrine was dismantled after the war and its former glory did not survive, two torii gates and multiple stone lanterns still remain. Walking along the wooden path feels like stepping into a time tunnel. Travelers visiting eastern Taiwan next time might want to include a historic site pilgrimage here.
