The general impression of airport food is that it's pricey and comes in small portions, which has long drawn public complaints. But now, that perception can change. The food court in Terminal 2 of Taoyuan International Airport, operated by President Chain Store Corporation, has officially launched its trial operation starting today. The 800-ping space hosts brands such as McDonald’s, COLD STONE, 7-ELEVEN, STARBUCKS, Chun Shui Tang, and Tsaio Tiao Yue Dan Zai Mian, all offering prices on par with their regular outlets. Travelers no longer need to worry about shocking price differences, marking a new chapter in Taiwan’s airport dining services.

President Chain Store Corporation General Manager Xu Zhongren stated that the President Chain Retailing Subsidiary Group is actively expanding into various commercial districts—from railway transport (Taiwan Railways and High-Speed Rail), highway service areas (Dongshan and Rende), tourist spots (Qingjing, Alishan, Kenting Bay)—to last year breaking the mold in Taiwan’s airport history by establishing the first 7-ELEVEN outlet at an airport. Over the past 10 years, this initiative has helped over 100 brands grow together and serves 32 million consumers annually. The international food court at Taoyuan International Airport emphasizes “Taiwanese identity with global connection” and aims to elevate Taiwan’s service industry while creating a brand-new image for Taiwan’s airports.
