In recent years, it has become quite popular to hold weddings abroad. Besides commonly mentioned destinations like Guam, Hawaii, Okinawa, and Hainan Island, the InterContinental Samui Baan Taling Ngam Resort, under the InterContinental Hotels group and located on Koh Samui, Thailand, also offers bespoke Thai-style weddings for couples. It is situated in the Baan Taling Ngam area, which was once named by The New York Times as one of “1,000 Places to See Before You Die.”

The Thai wedding package includes: an escort by a baby elephant, performances by Thai bands and dancers, as well as the release of traditional sky lanterns and fireworks. Additionally, arrangements can be made upon request for floral decorations, professional photography, party menus, and more. Couples can choose to hold a romantic waterside wedding and beach party at the resort’s 150-meter-long private pier; host a nighttime party at a luxurious beachfront villa near the expansive lawn; or enjoy the iconic open-air Air Bar with a 360-degree view of the Gulf of Thailand.

Couples wishing to extend their stay or simply enjoy a sweet holiday together can opt for the “Romantic Flame” holiday package. Priced at 12,900 Thai baht per night (minimum three-night stay), the offer is valid until July 15, 2012, and includes: accommodation in a sea-view suite or one of 12 independent beachfront pool villas, each featuring a private garden, sunbathing area, and pool; airport transfer service; one bottle of champagne; a 90-minute couples’ spa treatment; and a candlelit dinner for two at the resort’s beachfront gourmet restaurant, Flames.
