With fierce competition in the tourism market, highlighting local characteristics has become a key challenge for regional authorities. Kinmen County — in collaboration with Kinmen National Park, the Kinmen Kaoliang Liquor Inc., Kinmen Ceramics Factory, as well as local F&B and specialty operators and travel-related businesses — is planning to launch a “Premium Travel Package” in September. In addition to Kinmen’s must-visit attractions, the package offers customizable sightseeing options, traditional Kinmen cuisine, experiences with unique local souvenirs, and the chance to stay overnight in historic houses under starlit skies, ensuring an exclusive travel experience for visitors.

This premium travel package emphasizes customization and localization. Customized sightseeing includes stops at Shihshan Fortress, Kinmen Kaoliang Liquor Distillery, an electric cart tour of Kinmen’s Kinmen Head, the island’s only official kiln, and a tunnel music performance — allowing visitors to experience the nation’s only military-style welcome ceremony with an honor guard. Tourists can also explore the distillery’s sorghum cellars, sample liquor, and even purchase bottles to store in the “Liquor Bank,” or have custom-themed liquors created. Additionally, the Kinmen Head electric cart tour will take visitors to the country’s only open military broadcast wall, where they can try voice broadcasting, create personalized video DVDs, and visit Kinmen’s sole official kiln. After crafting their own wine bottle in the ceramics workshop, it will be delivered to the distillery for bottling and mailed back to them.

For customized souvenirs, visitors will be taken to local craft factories to make Kinmen specialties — such as the famed Kinmen Cannon Shell Steel Knife or Gongyang Candy. As for customized gourmet options, travelers can opt for a military ration experience, featuring canned noodle stir-fries, instant noodle stir-fries, and taro-flavored meat dishes, or choose signature plates themed around Kinmen’s traditional flavors and modern tastes, such as milkfish dishes and sorghum-based cuisine.

Excessive drinking is harmful to health.
