The American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) and the Discover America tourism promotion association jointly organize “My Magical American Vacation.” Following the first season’s “Shopping” theme, they are now launching the second season’s “Theme Parks.” In addition to introducing famous U.S. theme parks such as Disneyland, SeaWorld, Universal Studios, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Kings Dominion, Knott’s Berry Farm, and Hershey Park, the event continues the photography competition from the first season. Participants who upload photos taken at U.S. theme parks by themselves or their friends and family to the official website before December 15th will have a chance to win a round-trip air ticket between Taipei and the U.S. Additionally, those who vote on photography entries before December 25th also have a chance to win a round-trip air ticket between Taipei and the U.S.

Florida’s world-renowned Walt Disney World, covering an area of 120 square kilometers—about the size of San Francisco—boasts four major theme parks: the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom, as well as two water parks: Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon and Disney’s Blizzard Beach. The park also features over 20 hotels operated by Disney. With a focus on family-friendly holidays, it allows visitors of all ages to set sail with cartoon characters, enjoy delicious food, and watch spectacular fireworks. Also located in Florida, Universal Studios lets visitors explore real Hollywood movie sets, learn about filmmaking techniques such as stunts, pyrotechnics, and explosions, and experience the world’s only Harry Potter-themed area, bringing magic fans into a movie-like magical world.

California, a popular U.S. destination for Taiwanese travelers, is home not only to the Disneyland Resort but also to SeaWorld and Six Flags Magic Mountain. SeaWorld, themed around nature and marine life, offers rare marine animal exhibits and stage performances, where visitors can also feed sea lions, seals, and penguins. Six Flags Magic Mountain, targeting teenagers, features numerous thrilling rides that challenge physical limits, attracting numerous young visitors from across the U.S. every year.

Now in its second year, “My Magical American Vacation” has planned four major themes: Shopping, Theme Parks, Sports & Competitions, and National Parks. Each season features a separate photography competition. Participants simply need to upload photos (under 3MB) taken in the U.S. that match the theme, along with a caption of no more than 140 words, to the “My Magical American Vacation” website. The grand prize winners of the photography competition and participants who vote on the entries will each have a chance to win a round-trip air ticket between Taipei and the U.S. For more details, visit the official website: www.vacationUSA.com.tw.
