Spring is here—say goodbye to strawberry season and get ready for matcha season. Three major brands, including “Naruichi Tea Pong,” “Ippa Matcha Lounge,” and “PX Mart’s We Sweet,” have all introduced a variety of delicious matcha sweets and drinks.

PX Mart’s We Sweet
PX Mart’s We Sweet has teamed up with Kyoto’s long-established tea shop “Ito En Kyuemon” in an amazing collaboration, launching nine brand-new matcha desserts. No need to travel abroad to enjoy an authentic Kyoto flavor.

The most eye-catching item is the “Matcha Mt. Fuji Custard Roll,” where a cute Mt. Fuji can be seen in the cross-section. This roll is made with a delicate Japanese sponge cake and matcha custard using Ito En’s matcha, while the peak of Mt. Fuji is crafted from pure white custard, paired with a mixed berry filling—like a Mt. Fuji surrounded by cherry blossoms.

In addition, there’s the “Matcha Cheesecake Mont Blanc,” which blends French-style chestnut Mont Blanc. It uses matcha sponge on the top and bottom layers, with a smooth cheesecake mousse and Uji matcha fresh milk filling in the middle, topped with rich custard and a touch of sweet red bean paste matcha filling.

The charmingly round and fluffy “Matcha Cheese Soufflé” is made with a delicate cheese soufflé mixed with Uji matcha, topped with a thick layer of matcha whipped cream and filled with a cheese mousse interior that feels as soft and fluffy as a cloud.

For those who love layered textures, there’s also the “Matcha Red Bean Mille-Feuille,” which highlights the flavor of old-style red bean paste with matcha and fresh cream, offering a refreshing and smooth taste. The “Matcha Trio Chantilly Cup” features a slightly bitter matcha glaze and whipped cream on top, a red bean mousse in the middle layer, and a combination of cheese mousse and vanilla sponge at the bottom—you get a burst of multi-layered flavors in one bite. There are also options like “Matcha Heart Daifuku” and “Rich Honey Matcha Pudding,” perfect for an afternoon tea treat.
