The New Taipei City Christmas Town, with an event period of over a month, has planned various performances such as Christmas Broadway and Christmas Waltz. The highlights of the event—the Christmas Concert and the Christmas Street Parade Carnival—will also take place on December 22 and 23 at Civic Square. The lineup for the concert includes major stars such as S.H.E, Rainie Yang, Amber An, Cyndi Wang, Wilber Pan, Crowd Lu, and Yoga Lin. The street parade carnival will feature 30 groups, including a grandma samba troupe formed by local residents, the Taiwan Sun Theatre Troupe, and the New Taipei City Fire Department’s “Muscle Men Team,” all setting off from Zhongshan 1st Road toward New Taipei City Civic Square on December 23.

The lineup for the 2012 New Taipei City Christmas Town concert series has been revealed. The first day will feature performances by Amber An, Yen-j, Claire Guo, Wilber Pan, and Crowd Lu, while the second day will include S.H.E, Rainie Yang, Cyndi Wang, Aaron Yan, Crowd Lu, Luan Tan A-Xiang, Yoga Lin, Lala Hsu, and Lin Chun-yi. They will take the stage from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM on December 22 and from 6:00 PM to 10:30 PM on December 23. Additionally, both days of the Christmas concert will be live-streamed on TVBS Joy Channel and simultaneously broadcast on the TVBS YouTube channel.

As for last year’s highly acclaimed Christmas Street Parade Carnival, this year’s event will kick off at 3:30 PM on December 23, marching along Zhongshan Road toward New Taipei City Civic Square. With the theme “Dream & Love,” the event has seen enthusiastic participation. From the average age of over 70 Grenjiao Grandma Samba Troupe to the youngest group, the Hohasen Kindergarten Band, everyone is gearing up for the parade. The New Taipei City Fire Department’s “Muscle Men Team,” which was hugely popular in the previous edition, will also make an appearance this year alongside their well-trained police dogs. Additionally, the Taiwan Sun Theatre Troupe, composed of a group of young performers, will showcase fire-eating, sword-swallowing, and human levitation acts. Other participants in the lively parade include the New Taipei City Mounted Police and a total of 30 groups. Event website: tour.ntpc.gov.tw/activity/2012christmas/index.html.
