High-Speed Rail & Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Launch Ali Mountain Joint Ticket with Up to 23% Discount

Since July 2010, when Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR) partnered with Taiwan Tourist Shuttle to launch joint tickets such as the “Kenting Express” and “Sun Moon Lake Line,” it will introduce the “THSR Ali Mountain Line Joint Ticket” starting tomorrow (the 21st), providing travelers with a 25% discount on high-speed rail tickets, as well as a round-trip fare of NT$432 for the “Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Ali Mountain Line” (original price NT$510), with a minimum total discount of approximately 23%.

THSR stated that from February 21 to December 30, passengers can preorder the “THSR Ali Mountain Line Joint Ticket” for travel between February 23 and December 31 via the 7-ELEVEN ibon convenience service stations. Additionally, they can purchase an Ali Mountain Forest Recreation Area ticket (original price: NT$200 on holidays, NT$150 on non-holidays) and a one-way Ali Mountain Forest Railway ticket from “Ali Mountain Station → Jhao Ping Station” (worth NT$50) for an additional NT$150 at a discounted price.

 

The “THSR Ali Mountain Line Joint Ticket” includes a standard-class reserved seat on the high-speed rail and a round-trip ticket for the “Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Ali Mountain Line.” For example, for the “Taipei–Chiayi” section, the original price per person is NT$2,670, but with the joint ticket, it’s only NT$2,052—saving NT$618, about a 23% discount. Travelers can take the high-speed rail to Ali Mountain to enjoy world-renowned scenery such as sea of clouds, sunrises, cherry blossoms, and waterfalls.
