In recent years, working holidays have become a hot topic among many young students, who hope to experience foreign cultures and broaden their horizons through such programs. Following negotiations between our country and Belgium, the Taiwan-Belgium Working Holiday Program will officially launch on March 29, Youth Day. Each year,

Belgium is the fourth European country and the ninth in the world to sign such an agreement with Taiwan, while Taiwan is the fourth globally (after Australia, New Zealand, and Canada) to ink a working holiday plan with Belgium. Once the program is implemented, young people from both countries will be able to visit each other's nations through tourism, work, volunteering, or self-funded study programs, in order to learn the language, and gain deeper insight into the local culture, society, and way of life.

Located in Western Europe between France and Germany, Belgium covers an area of over 30,000 square kilometers—slightly smaller than Taiwan—and has Dutch, French, and German as its official languages. Historically situated at the crossroads of European transport and culture, Belgium not only offers great convenience for traveling to other European countries but also embodies a rich blend of European cultures, showcasing strong multicultural characteristics. In addition, Belgium’s capital, Brussels, is home to the headquarters of major international organizations such as the European Union (EU) and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), giving the country significant political influence.
