In light of the significant increase in travel demand between Taiwan and Thailand, TransAsia Airways3month15launched its inaugural flight to Bangkok. This is the second major transit hub in Southeast Asia after Singapore. The move enhances tourism and business exchanges between Taiwan and Thailand, establishes a denser air network connecting Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia, and expands its Asian route footprint.

TransAsia Airways’ Taoyuan–Bangkok route will be operated with a brand-new A330-300 aircraft, offering seven flights per week, with one flight to Bangkok every day. The flight departs at 16:05 and arrives in Bangkok at 18:55. The return flight departs Bangkok at 19:55 and arrives in Taoyuan at 00:25 (+1). After arriving in Bangkok, passengers can arrange other flights to Europe or Australia. Group travelers arriving in Thailand can still easily arrange to experience Bangkok’s nightlife; business travelers can rest and be well-prepared for meetings the next day. The return journey for group travelers allows an extra full daytime period for sightseeing before taking an evening flight back to Taiwan.
Last year, TransAsia Airways launched nine new destinations, including three cross-strait routes and six in Japan. Earlier this year, it also opened the Taichung–Macau route, bringing the total number of its domestic and international routes to over 50, establishing a comprehensive air network across Asia. Asian routes are also a strength and highlight for TransAsia Airways, which will actively evaluate the launch of new major Asian destinations such as Tokyo, Jakarta, and Kuala Lumpur this year.
