The COVID-19 outbreak continues to spread. As the COVID-19 outbreak spreads, four Brooklyn Nets players have tested positive, including superstar Kevin Durant. KD, who hasn’t played since last season’s championship due to an injury and a subsequent trade, tested positive after joining the team on the road. He is now in isolation for treatment. Before the suspension of play, the Lakers, his opponents, will also undergo testing.

Due to the rapid spread of the virus, countries worldwide have implemented strict measures. The EU has closed its external borders for the first time, banning non-essential travel for foreigners over the next 30 days. Italy, Spain, and others have announced nationwide lockdowns, restricting residents’ movements.

France has declared a state of war, allowing only essential activities and closing its borders for 30 days starting March 17. Czech Republic has imposed a nationwide lockdown, banning foreigners and preventing Czech citizens from leaving. Germany has suspended gatherings, closed businesses, and barred non-EU nationals from entering.

In the U.S., San Francisco has announced a shelter-in-place order from March 17 until April 7, with most businesses closed. Israel declared a lockdown on March 9, mandating a 14-day quarantine for all overseas arrivals. Malaysia has gone into full lockdown, banning both inbound and outbound travel. Russia has announced a ban on foreign entry until May 1, along with school closures and gathering restrictions.

Countries worldwide have adopted strict policies to curb the spread of COVID-19. On March 17, the Central Epidemic Command Center reported that Asian countries outside China have seen a surge in cases, with over 10,000 confirmed infections and rising numbers. Many nations have declared states of emergency and implemented tight border controls and quarantine measures. Meanwhile, the U.S. has also seen a continuous rise in cases.

Given the infection risks for Taiwanese travelers, the Command Center announced that, in addition to the previously listed third-level travel advisories for mainland China (including Hong Kong and Macau), South Korea, and Central Asian countries, the following 19 Asian countries, 1 Eastern European country, and 3 U.S. states will be elevated to Level 3 warning starting midnight March 19:
Asia: Japan, Singapore, North Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Brunei, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, East Timor, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, India, and Maldives.
Eastern Europe: Moldova.
U.S.: Washington State, New York State, and California.
The Command Center reminds the public to avoid all non-essential travel to these regions. Additionally, starting at 16:00 Taiwan Time on March 17, those already aboard flights must undergo 14 days of enhanced self-health management, while those not yet airborne must undergo 14 days of home quarantine upon arrival.

Furthermore, for other U.S. states not mentioned above, the travel advisory has been raised to Level 2, urging travelers to take extra precautions and adhere to 14 days of self-health management upon return.
