Marathon photography not only allows you to unleash your energy, passion, and creativity, but also lets you express your unique feelings about Tainan and your worldview. The 2013 PChome City 24-Hour Marathon Digital Photography Contest, the 12th edition, will be held in Tainan on July 27–28. It invites photography enthusiasts from all over Taiwan to experience Tainan in a different way, and to take part in a one-of-a-kind marathon photography event that creates infinite possibilities within limited time, discovering the distinctive charm of Tainan.

The contest encourages participants to pick up their cameras and document life around them, capturing the full spectrum of Tainan’s morning and evening scenery through an uninterrupted 24-hour marathon. It explores the diversity of local life and culture, allowing contestants to experience Tainan’s people, places, moments, and things through the event. By taking a closer look at the surroundings they live in, it promotes the beauty of Tainan.
The PChome 24-Hour Marathon Photography Contest is a creative-format photography competition. The Tainan session kicks off on the morning of July 27 and is divided into five segments. The organizers will distribute themes and topics at different competition stations in Tainan every 4–5 hours, where participants must submit their works and receive the next topic for creation. The event concludes on the morning of July 28. There are seven award categories, with the top prize being worth approximately NT$100,000. The municipal government plans to add special awards to further encourage public participation. Registration is now open until June 23 (or until filled), with 300 two-person teams available.
