Anping Shop—Famous Anping Fresh Burst Shrimp Crackers

Shrimp crackers are a famous specialty of Anping. Walking along the old streets of Anping, you’ll find shrimp cracker shops everywhere, and almost everyone leaves with a pack as a souvenir. To cater to modern healthy eating trends, Mr. Tsai Chen-yu, owner of Anping Shop, has created a new method for making fresh burst shrimp crackers. In addition to original, spicy, seaweed, and black pepper flavors, there are also exclusive varieties such as milkfish and Hokkaido king crab crackers. They’re delightfully crispy and crunchy. Moreover, the shop’s low-sugar handmade nougat is also extremely popular.

Matsamura Smoked Flavors—30-Year-Old Legacy of Smoked Braised Delicacies

The well-known Matsamura Smoked Flavors started from the Yaomuliao Market. With over 30 years of expertise in smoked braised delicacies, it is a time-honored shop with an outstanding reputation. The owner starts preparing fresh braised and smoked items every day before dawn. The unique aroma comes from the owner’s carefully selected herbal formulas, combined with rock sugar and salt specially blended into a meat sauce broth. This is slowly simmered over a gentle flame, then smoked and dehydrated to infuse the flavors. Whether it’s duck wings, rice blood cake, or smoked eggs, their sweet braised fragrance becomes even more flavorful the more you chew.
