During the day, Kaohsiung basks in bright sunshine, but as evening falls, the temperature becomes pleasant and a gentle breeze blows—making it the perfect time to experience the city’s nighttime charm. The Kaohsiung City Tourism Bureau has collaborated with the Grammy-nominated and Taiwan-representative “Ten Drums Art Percussion Group” to launch the fixed performance “Drum Rhythm and Majesty.” Set in the Kaohsiung Qiaotang Cultural and Creative Park, this spectacular local nighttime show combines drumming experiences, uniquely flavored drum-barrel cuisine, and daytime sightseeing itineraries to create a brand-new way to enjoy summer in Kaohsiung.

The century-old Qiaotou Sugar Refinery has been revitalized into a leisure resort and new tourist attraction. In addition to preserving the site’s historic narrow-gauge railway and open-air ecological jungle, it also promotes percussion art. It features Taiwan’s first chimney water theater, which uses local Songjiang military parade elements combined with water curtains, beacon towers, 4D projections, and fantastical water stages for a breathtaking experience. Drummers perform vigorously in the water, allowing audiences to enjoy world-class performances without traveling abroad—all right here in Kaohsiung.

For special offers, from July 12 to September 14, every Friday and Saturday, residents of Kaohsiung can enjoy half-price tickets by showing their ID. The public can also visit tourist service centers, high-speed rail stations, and other locations to pick up the free “Kaohsiung Go Enjoy” booklet, which contains various discount vouchers. Alternatively, purchase full-price tickets on the Kaohsiung MRT to receive discount coupons, or book group tickets for two people for 499 NTD via the Hsin Hsin Ticketing Group Purchase Network in the Kaohsiung-Pingtung-Yilan area. The Hanpin Hotel also offers a 1-night-1-meal package, among other deals. Visitors can also join recommended itineraries launched by the city such as “A Day of River Visits and Harbor Joys” or “A Two-Day Adventure of Mountain and Sea Delights,” all offering unique nighttime experiences, drum performances, and a special soul-soothing journey.
