The much-anticipated “Eslite Lifestyle Songyan Store” will officially open on August 15. The store is divided into four themed floors, housing designer concept shops, craft studios, era teahouses, specialty theme restaurants, an Eslite bookstore, a vinyl music space, as well as a performance hall and cinema. Starting August 14, various activities will take place, among them the “Eslite Sleepless Night eslite X up all night” from August 17–18 for 36 consecutive hours, offering 80 overnight events. It will also feature the first-ever “shared long table,” bringing together 17 F&B counters in the store, paired with exclusive combo meals for brunch, afternoon tea, and dinner at a special preview price of NT$265. The first floor of Eslite Lifestyle Songyan Store gathers classic brands from the Chinese-speaking world, featuring curated designer home décor, lifestyle accessories, jewelry, fragrances, and floral art. The second floor pioneers the integration of multiple specialty craft and design studios into a retail space, and introduces Taiwan’s first Eslite “Living Project” store—a new concept shop centered around the idea of “home.” It showcases newly developed products including furniture, kitchen and bathroom items, lifestyle accessories, and garden goods, embodying Eslite’s vision of “proposing a better way of living.”
The third-floor Eslite Bookstore is positioned around the theme of “Roots of Style. Infinite Imagination,” featuring four distinctive book zones: “Chinese & Foreign Literature,” “Muse Humanities,” “Intellectual Living,” and “Creative Aesthetics.” It also houses Taiwan’s first vinyl-dedicated store, “Eslite Music Vinyl Hall.” On the same floor, inspired by Taiwan’s tea culture, the space blends the aroma of tea with the fragrance of books, featuring century-old tea houses “Changshun Tea House” and “Youji Famous Tea,” the design-forward modern teahouse “Springwater Hall,” and Eslite Lifestyle’s new-concept tea pairing cuisine, “the first.”
The basement level two is a paradise for food lovers, including the northern Taiwan debut branch of world-champion baker Wu Pao-chun’s bakery, traditional Chinese dining with a classic touch at “Kao Ji,” and the boldly themed creative cuisine of “Haoyang Qing Shi.” Adjacent to these are the Eslite Cinema, which focuses on art-house films, and the Eslite Performance Hall, designed by Pritzker Architecture Prize winner Toyo Ito’s team. Together, they compose a harmonious symphony of music, art, film, and life.
To celebrate the opening, Eslite Lifestyle Songyan Store will host “Members’ Summer Night” from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM on August 14, themed around “Crossover & Live Performance.” Eslite members and their guests are invited to enjoy exclusive opening gifts, with free experience activities offered hourly throughout the store, including 14 types such as hand-cranked music boxes, handmade paper, and tea ceremony workshops. Eslite Cinema will screen 22 free opening celebration films from August 15 to 23—members can exchange their Eslite membership or accumulated points cards for two tickets per screening on the day. On August 18, the “All-Night Movie Night” will provide cozy blankets and complimentary coffee, with the early screening of the premiere film “Sing a Song for My Wife” offering Wu Pao-chun’s breakfast bread. Eslite Performance Hall will present six crossover, family-friendly, classical, and jazz performances from August 17–18, featuring Lin Wen-Zhong Dance Group, Wei Guang-Jiong Jazz Quintet, Taipei Brass Quintet, Van der Veer & Wang Ying-Jie, Classical Players, as well as author Yang Zhao and his daughter—pianist Li Qi-Xuan.
