The event will be held at 5:00 AM on January 1, 2014, at Waiao Beach next to the Waiao Visitor Service Center. The celebration will open with a wonderful traditional Chinese music performance, followed by an LED sound and light show. Organizers will also prepare colorful balloons for the public to write their wishes on, which will then be released into the sky amid the beat of a dynamic drum performance. In addition, the Lanyang Museum will offer free admission to the first 100 participants of the First Light event on New Year’s Day; Kuo Kuang Holidays will also offer special tour packages in conjunction with the event.
