To celebrate the Year of the Horse, the New Taipei City Department of Cultural Affairs has planned the “2014 New Taipei City Cultural Spring Outing Fun!” during the Lunar New Year period. The event includes a special “Museum Walk-and-See ‘Prosperity’ Lucky Draw,” where visitors to any of the participating museums in the New Taipei Museum Alliance can find recommended exhibits at each venue. By taking photos in front of exhibits featuring combined characters such as “Walk-and-See Prosperity,” “Spring Scenery Eternal Peace,” “Good Fortune as Wished,” “Wealth Like Gold,” “Daily Sight of Wealth,” “Attract Wealth and Treasures,” and “Learn from Confucius and Mencius,” and uploading them to the event website along with a personal blessing message for family and friends, participants can win big prizes like an iPad Air or Sony mobile phone.

Additionally, the Department of Cultural Affairs has launched the “Walk-and-See ‘Prosperity,’ Good Things Come in ‘Seals’” campaign, running from February 1 (the second day of the Lunar New Year) to February 16. Members of the public can pick up a stamp-collecting DM at any of the 21 participating public and private museums in New Taipei. Collecting three museum stamps qualifies participants for the lucky draw; five stamps can be exchanged for an “Event Commemorative Mug”; seven stamps for a “Walk-and-See Prosperity Commemorative Notebook”; and nine stamps for a “New Taipei City Museum Guidebook.” Quantities of all prizes are limited and will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis.
