In the open area near the Taichung Power Plant, there is a scenic spot featuring numerous massive logs. The spectacular sight of these giant timbers, paired with coastal views, blue skies, and white clouds, along with the colorful chimneys of the power plant as a backdrop, makes for truly unique and picturesque photos.

With a history of over a hundred years, Lishui Fishing Port saw its fishing industry gradually decline due to the construction of nearby power plants. Later, an abandoned coast guard station on the breakwater was transformed into a Greek-style observation deck. With its Mediterranean blue-and-white color scheme and nearby cycling trails, it has become a popular spot for wedding photography in Taichung, as well as an ideal place for watching sunsets, birdwatching, and cycling by the sea.

Aside from strolling through the beautiful campus, the Donghai Night Market is another must-visit attraction near Tunghai University in Taichung. The Donghai Villa Commercial Area, which has been around for over 50 years, offers a wide variety of street foods that will delight visitors.

The Pan Ding Church, which became an internet sensation, is one of only three boat-shaped churches in Taiwan and is also one of the best-preserved examples. Its ship-like exterior features a Mediterranean-inspired blue-and-white color scheme. The historic-looking architecture complements the sky, resembling a giant ship sailing the seas.
