Taiwan’s Second Starbucks Drive-Thru: Taichung’s Hottest New Café

Following the first in Tainan’s Yongkang Zhongzheng branch, Taiwan’s second Starbucks drive-thru has opened in Taichung! It debuted on June 6, attracting crowds eager to try the contactless ordering experience. This Starbucks location belongs to the Chungde Changping branch, making it the second drive-thru format store in Taiwan. Located in Taichung’s North District within the Phase 11 urban redevelopment zone, it’s also the first outlet designed with a straight-line drive-thru lane for convenient customer purchases. Shoppers have praised the straightforward ordering and pickup layout, earning rave reviews right from its opening!

The Starbucks Chungde Changping branch spans over 265 ping (approximately 8777 sq ft), featuring a total of 180 seats — including the largest outdoor seating area in the Taichung region. The store employs an advanced face-to-face two-way ordering system and digital menu boards for quick and seamless service. Its exterior adopts a leisurely resort-style design, clad in cedar wood slats that create a cozy, elegant atmosphere. Large floor-to-ceiling windows on three sides bathe the interior in natural light. Inside, walls are adorned with linen fabrics and hand-painted coffee-themed illustrations, evoking a relaxed, travel-inspired vibe.
