● Alaska Ice & Snow Festival
In addition to the basic ice art displays, the Alaska Ice & Snow Festival draws inspiration from the Spanish Bullfighting Festival. Each winter, it introduces the unique Reindeer Run event. ● Canada Winter Carnival
The Quebec Winter Carnival, held in Quebec City, lasts about two weeks and is known as the world’s largest winter carnival. The festival features a rich variety of uniquely colorful events, full of French cultural charm. Activities include night tours, canoeing on the river, or trying out “Caribou,” a unique Quebec spiced wine with maple syrup flavor. Artists often spend a month building a five-story-high “Ice Palace” out of blocks of ice before the festival. The palace is adorned with fluttering colorful flags, presenting a majestic sight.
