Hugely popular in Taiwan, Lavender Forest launched a fresh cultural and creative image on January 16, 2015. In collaboration with renowned designer Xiao Qingyang, they worked with illustrators Cherng (the Malayan Tapir), Cathy, and Mandarin lyricist Vincent Fang to create a wall-less art exhibition themed around “travel.” The exhibition was simultaneously held at three Lavender Forest locations—Xinshe, Jianshi, and Mingde—and ran until June 30, 2016.

Lavender Forest was initially founded at the end of 2001 by two young women, Tingfei and Huijun, in Xinshe, Taichung. Fourteen years later, to revive the dreams and beauty of “Lavender Forest,” renowned designer Xiao Qingyang reinterpreted the story of travelers chasing their dreams in this promised land. He collaborated across disciplines with Vincent Fang, Cathy Chen, and Cherng (the Malayan Tapir) to build, with their original aspirations, a forest theater where dreams and reality meet—capturing the journey of dreams.
