Taichung's Dongda Park is named after its proximity to Tunghai University, a landmark in Xitun District. Along Dongda Road, there is a 300-meter-long wall of blooming bougainvillea that transforms into a cascading sea of flowers in spring, attracting many visitors with its breathtaking beauty.

Bougainvillea has a long flowering period and can bloom year-round in areas with ample sunlight. It is also known as "trumpet vine" or "paper flower."

The design of Dongda Park incorporates the concept of an ecological corridor, featuring an elevated wooden boardwalk that wraps around the detention basin, offering a highly scenic landscape.
