Ichigen Ramen from Hokkaido is set to officially open its first overseas branch in Taipei’s Xinyi District in September. Unlike most ramen that uses pork or chicken bone broth, Ichigen Ramen is distinguished by its broth made from sweet shrimp, offering a uniquely unforgettable taste!

Japanese Ichigen Ramen uses a large amount of sweet shrimp heads simmered in the broth for a long time, then further processed with shrimp oil and lard, giving the broth a unique aroma that sets it apart from regular ramen. It has quietly amassed a loyal fanbase both in Japan and abroad. In Japanese stores, choosing a bowl of ramen doesn’t require much thought — there are only three types of shrimp-flavored broth options: Sweet Shrimp Soy Sauce Ramen, Sweet Shrimp Salt Ramen, and Sweet Shrimp Miso Ramen. After selection, staff will also adjust the broth concentration and noodle thickness according to customer preferences, allowing diners to enjoy their ramen just the way they like it.

Currently, there are four branches in Japan, including the Sapporo main store, New Chitose Airport store, Shinjuku store, and Kawanakajima Kawasaki store. The Taipei store, scheduled to open in September, will be Ichigen Ramen’s fifth branch and its first overseas location. Fans who love sweet shrimp and ramen, don’t miss your chance to try the delicious flavors of Ichigen Ramen!
