It’s strawberry season, and there are multiple strawberry farms in Neihu District, Taipei, just about a 30-minute drive from the city center. Without the hassle of a long trip, you can enjoy the fun of picking strawberries—making it a great choice for a family day out on the weekend.

Strawberry farms in Neihu are located in three areas: Baishihu Leisure Agriculture Zone, Daohu Street, and Antai Street. The strawberries are all grown in “greenhouses.” Due to the higher rainfall in northern Taiwan, the greenhouse structures ensure visitors can pick strawberries without worrying about muddy paths—even on rainy days, picking remains easy and enjoyable.

The “2020 Neihu Strawberry Season” launched on February 15, not only releasing a strawberry-picking map but also hosting a “Little Princess/Little Prince Selection Event.” Visitors who spend at least NT$400 at any participating strawberry farm in Neihu before April 20 can upload a photo of their child (ages 5–7) with the farm to participate in the selection event, competing for attractive prizes and the chance to become the spokesperson for next year’s strawberry events.

From December each year to early May of the following year, in addition to strawberry picking, some farms also offer a variety of agricultural experiences, such as DIY strawberry jam and wood-fired pizza making, among other enriching programs. It’s an ideal one-day trip for families, couples, or friends looking for a fun outing.
