As domestic medical mask production capacity continues to increase, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced on the 17th that the supply of real-name registered masks will be increased. Starting Thursday, February 20, all distribution sites nationwide (including National Health Insurance-contracted pharmacies and health centers) will raise the daily supply from the previous 200 adult masks and 50 child masks to 400 adult masks and 200 child masks per site.

The purchase limit for adult masks remains at two per seven days, while the child mask limit will also change starting February 20 to four masks per seven days (purchasable only with the National Health Insurance card of children under 12), in response to the upcoming school reopening.
The total national daily supply of real-name registered masks is expected to increase from the original 1.65 million to 3.96 million per day, including 2.64 million adult masks and 1.32 million child masks. The number of people served will also double from 825,000 to 1.65 million per day.
Regarding the supply of masks to medical institutions, the CECC stated that this week it will maintain an average daily medical distribution of 1.7 million masks. Over the weekend, 580,000 surgical masks were distributed to health bureaus in various counties and cities to replenish supplies for 99 hospitals, ensuring that the surgical mask stock at hospitals nationwide reaches a safe reserve level of at least 20 days. Starting the 17th, health bureaus will begin notifying hospitals to collect their supplies.
Thanks to the full cooperation and dedication of Chunghwa Post, National Health Insurance-contracted pharmacies, county and city health centers, the Chinese Pharmaceutical Association, and the Taiwan Pharmacist Association, the stable implementation of the real-name registered mask supply system has been made possible.
