The Majestic Princess, the newest and most luxurious flagship vessel among the 17-ship fleet of the international luxury cruise brand Princess Cruises, is also a ship specifically tailored for the Asian market. During its maiden voyage, it selected Taiwan as one of its ports of call, making a grand arrival at Keelung Port. Anthony Kaufman, Executive Vice President of International Operations for Princess Cruises, also arrived in Taiwan on board to personally introduce the Majestic Princess, showcasing the brand's fondness and emphasis on Taiwan.

The birth of the Majestic Princess has redefined luxury cruise travel in Asia, and the ship boasts three major firsts: culinary excellence—being the only ship in Asia featuring a “fine-dining restaurant with exclusive dinner menus designed by a two-Michelin-star chef”; being the first luxury cruise ship specifically designed for the Asian market; and home to the largest onboard duty-free boutique at sea, spanning 1,100 square meters.

The brand-new flagship ship Majestic Princess, which was only recently delivered in Italy in March and embarked on its maiden voyage, specially selected Taiwan as one of the 24 countries on its “World Cruise Tour.” Taiwan’s Harbor Company also gave a grand welcome at Keelung Port, deploying classic water-spraying escort boats with spectacular water jets to guide the ship in. Upon arrival, as many as 4,500 colorful eco-friendly, non-polluting balloons were released into the sky, while performances of indigenous dances with distinct Taiwanese characteristics and classic Taiwanese folk songs accompanied by symphonic music were presented to welcome the Majestic Princess and its nearly 4,000 international guests.

The 19-deck Majestic Princess weighs 143,000 tons, with a hull length of 330 meters. It took two years and an investment of $750 million to upgrade its facilities and exclusive services. Out of its 1,780 cabins, over 80% feature private balconies. All staterooms are equipped with the new Princess Luxury Bed—custom-designed by sleep expert Dr. Michael Breus, who is professionally certified by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. The décor of the Majestic Princess blends multiple design elements including trends, art, and history, showcasing an exquisite and luxurious style with metal, glass, and inlaid woodwork. Custom floral-patterned carpets highlight an oriental flair.
