The Challenge 8 Hours 2013 Charity Hiking & Trail Running Event is jointly organized by the China Youth Development Foundation and the Hebei Youth Development Foundation, sponsored by Perfect (China) Co., Ltd., and co-organized by Operation Blessing Hong Kong, Ci Media, and the People’s Government of Luanping County. It aims to harness the power of walking to help rural children enjoy reading and grow up happily. By mobilizing widespread social support to raise charitable funds and gather more love, the event strives to fulfill the reading dreams of rural children.

On September 8, 2012, the Challenge 8 Hours was successfully held in Yanqing, Beijing, receiving support and praise from all sectors of society. This year, the event will continue to uphold its philanthropic mission, with proceeds going towards the “Project Hope Joyful Reading” initiative in rural primary schools in Ya’an (Sichuan), Hebei, and Yunnan.
The smooth execution of Challenge 8 Hours would not be possible without the support of all sectors of society, especially the many enthusiastic participants who consistently offer valuable suggestions. Mr. He is one such participant.
Mr. He took part in the 2012 Challenge 8 Hours. After the event, he suggested to the organizing committee that family groups be added in future events, giving children the opportunity to participate as well. This would not only build their resilience but also enhance interaction with their parents. More importantly, it would teach children from an early age how to help and care for others. The organizers carefully considered and adopted Mr. He’s suggestion. This year, the Challenge 8 Hours has specially introduced a new “Family Group” category with a 13.5-kilometer parent-child adventure. In addition, the organizing committee will organize quality expansion activities on-site for the family group, enabling local Hope Primary School students to interact with participating families.
Here, the Challenge 8 Hours Organizing Committee introduces the details of the family group category and hopes to gain the attention and support of families everywhere.
