Paradise is disappearing fast – Tuvalu’s summer travel fair promotes a 4-day free itinerary

The 2015 Taipei International Travel Fair kicked off today (22nd), with Tuvalu, one of Taiwan’s diplomatic allies, participating to promote its independent travel packages. Spanning just 26 square kilometers with the highest elevation in the country being merely four meters, Tuvalu could vanish within 10 years. Ambassador to Taiwan Iftikhar Ayaz Tamim expressed hope that more people would seize the opportunity to visit Tuvalu, saying

Located among the South Pacific island nations, Tuvalu consists of nine island atolls and has a total land area of just 26 square kilometers. Its stunning island scenery and pristine natural environment are truly captivating, yet the country is at risk of disappearing soon, making it a paradise in the eyes of many. Want to see what Tuvalu looks like before it potentially vanishes? Ambassador Taomita says visitors can choose either a 2-day/2-night or 4-day/4-night itinerary. Flights to Tuvalu can be arranged via Fiji Airways, with a transfer in Hong Kong and then Fiji, before flying on to Tuvalu. There are only two flights per week to Tuvalu, so travelers can freely plan their trip accordingly.

As for the itinerary, visitors can explore women’s handicraft centers, the famous post office, and take a tour around the beautiful protected islands. On these islands, you can enjoy swimming and snorkeling while experiencing one of the world’s few remaining unspoiled and unpolluted natural environments.
