The “2020 Shilin Official Residence Tulip Exhibition – Glad Tulip You’re Here” runs from February 14 to February 23, showcasing tulips from Japan and the Netherlands, transforming the Shilin Official Residence into a vibrant and dreamy floral wonderland. The exhibition layout incorporates elements from tulip parks in the Netherlands and of Tonami City in Japan, complementing the dazzling tulip fields to offer visitors a spectacular visual feast.

In addition to tulips displayed in the Western garden and strolling area, this year’s exhibition has expanded to the Chinese garden, featuring a total of 100,000 tulips. These include various cup-shaped and feathery tulips in a rainbow of colors, all bursting into brilliant bloom at this time.

This year’s tulip exhibition also kicked off on Valentine’s Day, with love-themed decorations throughout. There is also a special Happiness Bell within the exhibition that rings in moments of joy.

Themed “Glad Tulip You’re Here,” the event celebrates friendships in youth, romance in adulthood, and familial bonds in later years. No matter your stage in life, you can visit Shilin Official Residence to admire the tulips, encounter the most enchanting flower seas, and find happiness.

This year’s tulip display features nearly 20 different hues, including red, yellow, pink, purple, white, orange, black, and bi-colors — a total of 100,000 tulips and hyacinths. Visitors of all ages can also admire a wide variety of uniquely shaped tulips, such as single-petal cup-shaped blooms, feathery lace-like petals with sawtooth waves, and tulips with multiple layers of petals resembling roses.

Beyond the static flower displays, special weekend events at the Maple Incense Stage in Shilin Official Residence feature exotic performances, including saxophone music, Japanese dance, flamenco, and tap dance. Additionally, from 9–12 AM and 2–4 PM daily at the service counter area, visitors can take part in a Turkish water marbling art experience. This allows travelers to enjoy a feast for the eyes, ears, and touch while admiring the blooming flowers — encountering another kind of romance amid the colorful blossoms.
