Centered around the theme of spring outings in Qiandao Lake and combining the nostalgic memories of travelers from the 70s, 80s, and 90s about spring trips, netizens were invited to participate for free, experience the trip, and write nostalgic travel guides. The event was divided into two phases. In the first phase, netizens liked three Qiandao Lake spring outing routes and shared them on their social media platforms with one click. Through random selection, three members from each of the 70s, 80s, and 90s age groups—three in total per group—were chosen to form the “Qiandao Lake DuoDuo Class 1” travel group. On May 10th, the nine members gathered in Qiandao Lake, kicking off a spring outing tailored to different generations. In the second phase, after returning from the spring outing, the “DuoDuo Class 1” members wrote and submitted a travel guide on the YouDuoDuo website. The guide with the most likes ultimately won.
This spring outing was held in Qiandao Lake. Surrounded by continuous mountains and lush forests, it is praised as the “Most Beautiful Water Under Heaven” and is a national scenic area as well as a national 5A-level tourist attraction. Before the picturesque ink-wash landscape of Jiangnan, dotted with islands and vast blue waters, the nine “DuoDuo Class 1” members embarked on a journey of nostalgia, starting a uniquely themed spring outing to search for and document their own childhood memories in words.
The leader of the 70s group, Yun Yi, is a Chinese language teacher. His travel record, from title to text, emphasized simplicity and plainness. “I walked and looked around, and at a fork in the road, I suddenly found no one before me or behind me—only me, walking alone. I suspected my companions were all ahead, so I quickened my pace. I walked past the Red Leaf Beach, crossed the suspension bridge, climbed the Stairway to Heaven, and turned a corner to find the downward path...” Such a tone matched well with the honest and gentle nature of the 70s generation. He said he was “an old man acting young again,” but having such a youthful heart is truly enviable. In comparison, many people may be young in age but old at heart.
The post-80s young man “Tiramisu” wrote in his guide, “The term ‘spring outing’ had long been buried deep in my memory. Putting on the red scarf and pinning on the squad leader’s armband felt like I had returned to my childhood. I was too excited to sleep, lying in the tent listening to the intermittent chirping of insects...” This slightly literary interpretation evoked the common warm memories of the post-80s generation.
The post-90s girl “Flower Blooms Without Farewell” wrote the most unique and playful travel log, full of Q&A and banter that made people laugh. It was clear she had a youthful and uplifting heart. Just like the title of her post, “On the Road, We’re Always Youthful,” such a young, bold mindset and innocent thought process is hard to replicate or recall once gone, making it impossible not to love this vibrant, spirited girl.
The two-day trip to Qiandao Lake brought different but equally wonderful memories to each member. The meaning of travel is nothing more than finding a reason to pause the busy pace of life and an opportunity to encounter different stories. Each participant put their heart into writing their guides, and all achieved great results—the average number of likes per guide exceeded 1,500. Netizens actively interacted and replied. On June 16th, the guide-like activity ended, and the list of winners was announced on the relevant event page. The Qiandao Lake · Multi-Era Spring Outing Show attracted widespread attention and participation from netizens with its fun and thematic approach. We hope to see more such unique and meaningful themed spring outings in the future!
