As the “National Day” holiday draws near, many domestic scenic spots have suddenly raised their ticket prices, with different levels of increase. Although higher ticket prices can’t deter people from traveling, this action by the scenic areas has left a large number of tourists fuming: Scenic spots, is this how you expect us to have fun during the holiday?

According to incomplete statistics by reporters, this year several scenic spots across the country have increased their prices. Scenic areas such as Suzhou Gardens, Cangshan Mountain in Dali, Danxia Mountain in Guangdong, and Jade Dragon Snow Mountain have officially implemented new ticket prices. Among them, the ticket price for Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in Lijiang has risen from 105 yuan to 130 yuan, and the ticket for Danxia Mountain in Guangzhou has gone up from the original 160 yuan to 200 yuan, marking a significant increase.

In stark contrast to this trend, Zhangjiajie Scenic Area in Hunan has pledged that there will be no ticket price hikes during the National Day Golden Week. Taking this opportunity, reporters conducted a phone interview with the person in charge of the Bailong Elevator in Zhangjiajie. On the other end of the line, the Bailong Elevator representative informed the reporters that due to price adjustments at multiple 5A-level scenic spots last year and policy restrictions, not many scenic areas are raising prices this year, and Zhangjiajie is not among those adjusting prices.

At the same time, the head of Bailong Elevator stated, “When it comes to scenic area ticket prices, we shouldn’t focus solely on whether they are high or low. Ticket pricing should be reasonably set based on the costs of scenic area construction and maintenance.”

It is understood that there are three Bailong Elevators in Zhangjiajie. The first elevator has already completed its capacity expansion; after the upgrade, its capacity has increased from 50 to 64 people, and the ascent from the mountain base to the summit now takes just 1 minute and 58 seconds. During the National Day period, all three elevators will operate simultaneously, which will greatly alleviate the issue of long queues for tourists and save more time for them to explore more of Zhangjiajie’s beautiful scenery.

Currently, many regions regard tourism as a pillar industry, hoping to drive economic development through tourism. However, if they continue to focus solely on the “ticket economy” without striving for service improvement, management enhancement, and extension of the industrial chain, it will inevitably lead to a decline in the attractiveness of the scenic areas, thereby affecting their sustainable development.
