The fast and bright Eta Aquarid meteor shower, a spectacular display, is expected to peak between May 4th and 6th, with a maximum rate of around 50 meteors per hour. As it coincides with the weekend, star enthusiasts might want to plan a meteor-watching trip.

Since the radiant point rises around 2 a.m., it’s better to watch after midnight. Despite the moonlight, the occasional meteors streaking across the night sky, along with the bright Mars, Saturn, Jupiter, and the dazzling summer Milky Way, still make it well worth heading to a wide-open rural area for viewing.
