There’s a place even higher than Everest in the world—that’s the heart that wants to touch the heavens.
The HIMEX polar series is cutting-edge outdoor gear developed exclusively by Toread for expeditions to Earth’s Three Poles (the Antarctic, the Arctic, and Mount Everest).
This series integrates the top scientific research achievements of "Toread Polar Bionic Technology." All products have been field-tested and safely used by the "Chinese National Antarctic and Arctic Expedition Team" and "internationally renowned mountaineering and exploration teams," enduring the harshest tests of extreme environments. They provide safe and comfortable all-round protection for polar explorers in the most extreme and unpredictable climates, such as severe cold, fierce winds, and heavy snow.
Toread HIMEX Gear Grows More Refined Through Extreme Environmental Testing
Since 2007, Wang Jing, a renowned Chinese female mountaineer and co-founder of Toread (also known as Fei Xuejingjing), has made extreme locations her destinations for bold exploration and product validation, personally testing Toread gear at altitudes of 8,000 meters. After each extreme environment expedition, Ms. Wang shares with the design team the strengths, weaknesses, and potential improvements of each product based on real-world usage in harsh conditions.
In 2009, Toread signed an agreement with the Polar Office of China’s State Oceanic Administration, becoming the "Exclusive Product for the Chinese Antarctic (and Arctic) Expedition Team." Chairman Sheng Faqiang also personally traveled to Antarctica in 2009 to conduct product research and testing. Toread gear has endured the extreme polar environments of intense cold, dryness, and fierce winds, safeguarding the expedition team for four consecutive years while continuously breaking new ground. During this time, multiple new products were developed, earning widespread praise from team members.
In 2012, Toread entered into a strategic partnership with the world-renowned mountaineering and exploration company Russell (Himalayan Expeditions). Mr. Russell and his team have since become one of the best testimonials for Toread in testing and providing feedback on product technology in high-altitude snowy regions.
In 2013, the Toread HIMEX product line was unveiled at the 2014 Spring/Summer Trade Fair. After years of rigorous testing and continuous evolution, the HIMEX product line is finally being introduced to the general public, marking Toread’s move toward offering more premium, professional outdoor sports gear.
In 2014, Ms. Wang Jing (Fei Xuejingjing) embarked on a January challenge to complete the "7+2 World Major" feat. The "7+2" refers to the highest peaks on each of the seven continents plus both the North and South Poles—the nine points representing the extremes of the world’s coordinate system and the pinnacle of extreme exploration. Wang Jing also climbed two controversial mountains among the seven continents, effectively completing the feat of "9+2" and breaking the record as the person who accomplished it in the shortest time. Throughout the challenge, the Toread HIMEX series of clothing provided Fei Xuejingjing with ultimate protection.
>>> TIPS: Outdoor Advice from Fei Xuejingjing
Safety and risk are two states that coexist. Safe outdoor activities mean ensuring safety through risk management. Here are some basic safety principles to follow when participating in outdoor activities:
The Buddy System Principle: Always go outdoors with at least one other person so that each individual is mutually responsible for their partner throughout. This is especially important for teenagers and those with limited outdoor experience.
The group’s pace should be set by the slowest member to ensure the group stays together and doesn’t get separated.
Avoid unplanned activities. For example, if someone impulsively wants to climb a rock face barehanded, no matter how high or easy it seems, try to dissuade them.
The group should frequently stop to drink water and rest, especially in hot and humid weather. Before setting off again, ensure everyone is present and no one is left behind.
Everyone should carry a whistle to signal for help or in case of trouble. Remember, a whistle should only be used in emergencies.
