The number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus pneumonia in China has been rising rapidly in recent days. As of February 4, the total number of cases has exceeded 20,000, spanning all provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions across China. Considering the severity of the epidemic in China and its close ties with our country, the Central Epidemic Command Center announced on February 5 that starting February 6, inbound travelers with travel history to China, Hong Kong, or Macau will be subject to home quarantine. However, those who have applied and been approved to return from Hong Kong or Macau must conduct self-health management for 14 days. Travelers from all provinces and cities in China will have their entry temporarily suspended.

The Command Center stated that Hong Kong has experienced sporadic cases of community transmission with unknown sources, and there may be hidden transmission chains within the community. Additionally, Macau recently reported infections among casino industry employees, leading to a second wave of infections. Given its close ties with China, the travel epidemic advisory level for Hong Kong and Macau has been raised to Level 2: Alert, reminding the public to take enhanced protective measures when traveling to these areas. The Command Center will closely monitor the epidemic situation and adjust the list of epidemic areas and travel advisories as the situation evolves.
