As winter fades and spring arrives, cherry blossoms are blooming all over Taiwan. While you can take the MRT or drive to snap beautiful photos of the blossoms, taking a train to view them is also a dreamy option. Here are five secret flower-viewing spots accessible by train and a short bus ride—plan your weekend mini-trip to enjoy the blossoms now.

Tamsui Tianyuan Temple
Every year from late winter to early spring, Taipei’s Tamsui Tianyuan Temple transforms into a renowned cherry blossom destination, attracting photography enthusiasts and travelers from all over who come just to see the mountainsides blanketed in blooming cherry blossoms. Take a train to Taipei Main Station, transfer to the MRT to Tamsui Station, then take Bus 875 to Tianyuan Temple Station. It’s just a 2-minute walk to this secret cherry blossom spot.

Hesheng Station on the Neiwan Line
Around Hesheng Station on the Neiwan branch line, clusters of cherry blossoms burst into vibrant red. The stunning blooms, set against the station’s railway tracks, create an especially enchanting scene. It’s extremely convenient as you can step off the train and arrive right at the station.

Wuling Farm
The much-anticipated Wuling Farm cherry blossom season is here. Currently, the first blossoms to appear are along the roadside in front of Peach Blossom Village, in front of the medical station, in front of the tea house, and near Peach Orchard. This year, Wuling Farm has implemented traffic controls—visitors without a vehicle pass issued by the farm cannot enter Zhong 124 Road. Consider taking a train and transferring to a bus to reach the mountain directly.

National Chi Nan University Cherry Blossom Grove
Located near Xinyi Station, National Chi Nan University sees its cherry trees in full bloom every February to March. A variety of activities are held under the blossoms, including picnics and tea tastings. This year’s cherry blossom events kicked off on February 11 and will run until March 11. Flower lovers shouldn’t miss out.
