The last pure land on the blue planet！Sichuan tourism unveils new logo and promotes hidden scenic spots

The beautiful landscapes of Sichuan are truly breathtaking！The event was jointly organized by the Sichuan Tourism Association and co-hosted by Expert Travel Agency“Sichuan Tourism Promotion Conference”was held in Taipei on the 21st. The stunning scenery of Sichuan and its magnificent World Cultural Heritage sites attract over 300,000 visitors each year. Lan Jingxiong, Deputy Secretary-General of the Sichuan Tourism Association, said that in the future, they hope to highlight lesser-known beautiful spots in Taiwan, giving more travelers the chance to explore Sichuan.

Located in the southwestern part of mainland China, on the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, Sichuan can be reached from Hong Kong in just 3.5 hours by flight. Covering an area of 486,000 square kilometers, it features a blend of snow-capped mountains, grasslands, canyons, and glaciers. The region is also home to three-quarters of the world’s wild pandas. Due to its unique geographical environment, it boasts five World Heritage Sites, including Jiuzhaigou, Huanglong, Mount Emei, Dujiangyan, and the Giant Panda Habitat.

Lan Jingxiong recommends several must-visit spots in Sichuan. In addition to well-known destinations among Taiwanese travelers such as Jiuzhaigou, Mount Emei, and Lugu Lake, there’s Daocheng Yading, known as “the last pure land on the blue planet,” which is especially captivating during spring and autumn when flowers are in full bloom. Located in southern Sichuan, the Shunan Bamboo Sea is a vast and historic “green bamboo park.” Coupled with the leisure tourism experience of “agritainment” around Chengdu, every scenic spot offers unforgettable beauty.

Regarding the inbound tourism incentive policies introduced by the Sichuan Tourism Association for major travel agencies in Taiwan, one policy is for chartered flights—travelers staying in Sichuan for three nights receive a reward of 300 RMB per person. For travel agencies that advertise in Taiwanese media, the Tourism Association subsidizes 40%, with a maximum annual subsidy of up to 800,000 RMB. For overseas travel exhibitions, selling products also comes with a 40% reward policy.

Sichuan’s cuisine and uniquely scenic landscapes have always been major draws for visitors. To enhance its image, the Sichuan Tourism Promotion Conference also unveiled a new promotional logo, selected from hundreds of design drafts over the course of a year. SI represents couples or travel companions, C stands for chili, and HUAN means joy. The promotional slogan "Sichuan, more than panda" conveys that Sichuan has much more to offer beyond just pandas.
